Custom Hoodie Manufacturer Quotes: How to Compare Like-for-Like Offers
Two custom hoodie manufacturer quotes are only comparable when they describe the same product and order. A lower unit price may reflect a different fabric, simpler hood, smaller print or excluded packaging. Before negotiating, make the differences visible so the brand can decide what it is actually buying.
Use one specification for every quotation
Give suppliers the same drawings, measurement chart and material requirements. Include composition, construction, finished fabric weight and any requested treatment. If the fabric is still undecided, ask each supplier to identify its proposed option instead of treating an unspecified material as confirmed.
Define hood layers, pocket construction, rib requirements and whether the style is a pullover or zip-up. Reference a dated specification version. If one supplier suggests a change, list it as an alternative rather than silently mixing it into the main comparison.
Make the quantity breakdown explicit
State quantities by style, colour and size. A total of 1,000 hoodies in one design and colour is a different request from 1,000 distributed across multiple designs and colourways. Ask the supplier to quote the actual allocation rather than a headline collection total.
Confirm whether the offer is for newly manufactured garments or decoration of existing blanks. These are different sourcing approaches. Also ask how repeat orders will be handled and which materials or trims require a fresh availability check.
Identify what the decoration price includes
Provide artwork at the intended dimensions and specify its locations. Record the proposed print, embroidery or other application method. Ask whether setup, artwork preparation or component development is charged separately and whether the unit price includes every requested placement.
Approve the proposed method on the actual fabric. If the quotation assumes a simpler application than the design requires, resolve that before comparing prices. A digital mock-up alone does not confirm the production technique or its cost.
Separate samples, packaging and delivery
Ask what the sample charge covers: pattern development, fabric, decoration, labels and revisions. Record any conditions for a sample-fee credit against a bulk order rather than assuming it will be refunded.
List main labels, size and care labels, hangtags, individual bags and carton markings. Clarify what is included in the garment price and which delivery costs are separate. Use the same currency and agreed delivery basis when comparing offers; do not compare a garment-only price with a delivered price as if they were equivalent.
Resolve assumptions before accepting the quote
Make a short comparison sheet with one row per supplier and columns for confirmed materials, construction, decoration, quantity, packaging, sample charges and exclusions. Flag any item marked subject to confirmation. The best next step may be a material or sample review, not another request for a discount.
